| Show RECRUITS FOR lHILIPPINES Six Hundred Men Rave Enlisted at Boston Boston March 29Recruiting for the Philippine service has been gQlng m i here at a rapid rate an average of twenty men a day having been assigned i to the Twentyfirst infantry which is under orders to go to Manila Major Quinton recruiting officer says 600 men have been enlisted in this city for the Philippines Besides those sent to the Twentyfirst infantry large numbers of men have also been enlisted In this city for service in the ranks of the Ninth Thirte nth and Seventeenth infantry in-fantry and the Sieth artillery The Seventeenth is at present at the front in the PhilIppines the Nineteenth is under way for Manila and the Thirteenth ThIr-teenth is at Buffalo under orders for Asiatic service and wlll probably proceed pro-ceed to the front with the Twentyfirst at an early date TheSixth artillery is also under moving orders for the Philippines Phil-ippines being at present locJted at Fort 1IlcHenry Baltimore Nearly 100 veterans of the Ninth Massachusetts have enlisted in the regiments many of them being at present with the seventeenth sev-enteenth infantry at the front Major Quinton has also enlisted men from tohe Second and Sixth Massachusetts and I discharged men from the Seventh regulars I reg-ulars I |
