Show THE SANTA FIt F-It Progress In the Nature of Extension Exten-sion I California San Francisco Feb 230Paul Morton vice president of the Santa Fe railway system and party arrived here today from southern California Mr Morton comes here in connection with the fu ture progress of the Santa Fe in this section Mr Morton expects tc have through trains to the east running from Stockton by October next The new I I system includes the San Joaquin Val I hey railroad and will make San Francisco Fran-cisco its western terminus The Santa Fe will not inaugurate a rate war nor I will the railroad erect expensive build ings In this city A few freight sheds will be constructed at once but beyond I these Improvements no great improvements Improve-ments are contemplated for the present lent t I Not a Significant Fat The fact that Judge Cornish was elected president of the Boise Terminal company at the meeting of stockholders stockhold-ers last Monday is not regarded as rgade having any particular significance as to the present status of the two companies com-panies It Is explained that some years ago the Short Line desired to change the location of its terminal near Boise I and funds were necessary for the work The receivers would not authorize the expenditure therefore a new company I was formed and funds advanced by those who later expected to come Into possession of the road Since the road I has passed from the hands of the receivers I re-ceivers and Judge Cornish has been made president i follows naturally that he as well as Mr Bancroft should occupy the same position with the Boise Terminal company a they do I with the Short Line Excursion to Ogden I The excursion to be run by the Short I Line from her to Ogden with the local I opera company on the 27th will be one of the largest of the season Mr Spencer I Spen-cer of the passenger department says he expects there will be at least seven coaches to the train Returning after the opera an effort will be made to break all records between here and Ogden for fast time The company intends in-tends to reach this city and connect delay with street cars with the least possible Railway Notes Mr F A Wadleigh returned from the east yesterday He brings with him the plans 11 cuts of the elegant diningcars now being made for the I road and which will be run over the MayA line for the first time about the 1st of May-A dispatch states that the Denver Rio Grande Is again free from snow blockades |
