Show farmington FAB FRACTIONS county court robert wade and charles H smith appointed tree inspectors other items COURT NOTES april 1894 full board present hon 11 II IV haight 1 presiding minutes of session held on 2nd and dinst read and approved considerable of the courts time was taken up discussing our horticultural interests prof W H brown of browns insect exterminator fame was present and made some valuable suggestions also remarks on the subject were made by smith brothers of davis co nursery T F king of farmington and lambert blamires Blai of kaysville Kays ville from the several names suggested for the office of horticultural and tree inspector robert wade of kaysville Kays ville aud charles 11 smith of centreville Cen treville were sleeted and appointed selectman nalder reported that lie had bad instructed the supervisor of road district no 9 to make the essary repairs to the road in weber canyon the same supervisor was instructed by the court to immediately have removed a fence that has been built in that district which is obstructing tile the road near J harbert sons land judge 0 haight reported that he did not think it wise to expend any means on highway no 1 near A S roses residence es as petitioned for as there were so many other places that were in greater need of beino being improved the clerk was instructed to write to the bountiful bountiful city council in regard to the can canyon y on road being damaged m by the waters of mill creek selectman lee was instructed to 0 have guard rails placed around a culvert in a road near woods cross bountiful complaint having reached the court that a certain party had bad neglected to comply with the order of the court in relation to putting cul verts in irrigating ditches on the county road after being 0 notified so to do by the supervisors the matter was referred to attorney attorney y pearson to instruct the supervisors how to proceed selectman nalder was authorized to act for the court in regard to owners of an irrigating ditch on oil highway no mo 22 wanting to toc change liang ye the location of said ditch the sum bum of 2000 was appropriated to be expended on county roads provided that labor performed under said appropriation shall not be paid for until oct 1894 selectman cook reported he had received a letter i from selectman shurtleff of weber county court stating that mrs wilder hatch could bo be admitted to the county poor house the terms had not yet been ascertained but mr shurtleff would ascertain in a few days what they would he be and then inform him clerk phillips was instructed to visit the family of samuel ward of kaysville Kays ville and furnish what means the ilie family were in need of and as mr ward was afflicted with a cancer and the disease being reported to be of such a nature that the residence should be dis lis infected he was instructed ted to III leave ive the infecting disinfecting dis done at the expense of the ilie county the application 0 of win cotterell Col terell for the office of sealer scaler of weights and alid measures was laid over until next nest session CLAIMS ALLOWED B A mcmillen agent for U S school and office furnishing company G F patillo court house and lot expenses acet D K davis roads acet J W steta road aeck acca adjourned to monday april 1894 C T OTHER ITEMS it is again time lime to remind your granger readers of the importance of clearing rocks sticks and other obstructions from the meadows before the grass gets high enough to cover them from sight of the boy on the mower seat also furrows should be plowed in grain that will ivill require irrigating 0 and in orchards etc before the ground gets dry and hard our schools have all closed except Mias Miss Clara leonards in north farmington and miss bliss mcfalls new west school A great number of recruits for or eles deserters from the utah contingent gen t of the coxe coxey y army are passing through our town after giving us a social call for grub or a place to roost in our bay barns C T farmington april 1894 |
