the grandeur and beauty of that temple not made wit hands I in our heavenly home that we might likewise while sojourning here below rect temples for our com ort and commemorate < ur institutions of benevolence charity friendship love and truth The ambition of mankind going back toward the antedeluvian age has always been to magnify and excel In all the works of art science knowledge and all the eyes of the civilized human race for their beauty splendor and greatness during the times in whicn they were erected and to tell us and those yet un orn that they were an industrious indus-trious people whose hearts and minds were public spirited their souls loyal to their count tay and grateful to the God that gave them birth The great Architect wlio created the earth and the splendor of the upper deep gave us the material for all tune and the time to cOllie so that each succeeding deradc should write the history of the earth and its people by the indelible su crstructure of progress and ao levements the monuments of antiquity anti-quity and modernism are only thus through thee channels preserved and perpetuated air Preaidert you have much to be proud of and gratefully to be congratulated You yourself and the promoters of this temple realize what you have accomplished when you arc reminded that but a few years ago this same undertaking at Its very inception was a failure Not for want of courage and perseverance per-severance for of these two energies of human will you have at last succeeded and accomplished ac-complished a great good But for the want ot suport and endorsement in tco new a community com-munity Localities of greater wealth strength and powe than this one have shruuk from such an undertaking lest failure would be the inevitable The interests of property and wealth you represent the pure sturdy pluck we see gathered around this landmark of time and the hearty support led endorsement of so I many enthusiastic brothers are such that no man
