The Omaha Insurance Rate War OMAHA Neb Oot 22Special telegram to TIE HHUALUJ There was an interest j ing meeting of the representative fire insurance in-surance men of Omaha this evening The discussion was upon the rate war that has been raging in Omaha for a few weeks j The leading companies in the war were the Connecticut and the German American A I prominent insurance man said that the real 1 i cause of the rate war was a desire to get i I rid of the compact manager Mr J Gayer I This gentleman said that Geyer had been very stiff necked about the rates and in 1 dealing with the underwriters had pursued I i a course that had made him unpopular with the insurance men The mattr finally will be taken up by tho compact at Chicago and it was believed that an agreement would be reached within a day or two and a new compact for the Omaha underwriters would probably be established
