| Show From Plnedale Arizona I The 24th passed off pleasantly The weather was cool and quite cloudy a very refreshing rain on the 23d Our small grain harvest is in full blast On nearly every band can be seen the oldtime cradle being swung by tho sturdy farmer The reaper or tbo self binder has not as yet I found its way into our fields Some of our I most enterprising farmers say we are too far behind the times in larmingmachincry and that another season will find the self binder in our fields We need machinery hero both for seed time and harvest We need the latest improved ploughs harrows and seeders We need plenty of harvesting machinery We need a largo steam sawmill saw-mill which could supply tbe large and increasing in-creasing demand for lumber We havo tho finest of saw timber in unlimited quantities quanti-ties right around us We need u first class steam grist mill in our town to convert con-vert our wheat into marketable flour A good saw and grist mill would be paying Investments here We need a fow good men of capital who would make good citizens I citi-zens among us We have fair prospects before us The time is near at hand when this part of the country will be known tar acd near as the granary of Arizona I We have the resources and climate to I make it so The wheat last season averaged aver-aged over fifteen bushels per acre Tho wheat this season is fully as good as it was i last season Corn and other crops look I well and bids fair for a bountiful harvest I Wo have two small stores in town which were just established last spring Goods ore sold very reasonable Wo have no saloons nor gambling dens in our town nor have we any use for them A G MCCLEVE PIXEDALE Ariz July 23 |
