I r Leslie Carters Debts NEW YOKK Aug 3Mrs Leslie Carter I was examined today in supplementary i proceedings growing out of the claim of G A Phelps for 157 for painting her portrait She testified she has no property but her wearing apparel and that she was taken care of by her mother with whom she has been living on Madison avenue Tho extent I ex-tent and value of her wearing apparel a I then made tho subject of 8 long examination examina-tion Mrs Carter did not know that she I was a star she was hoping to be an actress act-ress She has never asked her manager I for money she simply wanted to get a start in the profession She hopes sometime I I some-time to pay her debts but does not know within 20000 how much they are The I examination 20A was adjourned until November
