Joint City and County Building The joint city and county building muddle thickens It is understood Mr Bowmnn is willing to step down and out in fact per force he must do so He however how-ever wants some one to take hold who will pay him the money he has sunk in the building that is the 10 per cent of his pay which is held I back and he is out at least 10 per cent in discounting the warrants which he was forced to take from the county for their portion of the payments All things considered con-sidered Bowman is not so much to blame for the unfortunate condition of affairs Had the city and county been in shape to pay in cash the monthly estimates as they came due the probability is the contractor con-tractor could have gone on and completed the building in the proper time He will now be given a reasonable time to make satisfactory arrangements failing fail-ing which the joint committee will take it out of his hands The mayor is very anxious to have the structure completed or at least have the I roof on before winter sets in as it is his I great ambition to have it dedicated before his term of office expires and he will use I every legitimate effort to this end
