Honor to the Old Folks Let it not be forgotten that the annual treat to the aged people of this city will bo given on Tuesday July 18 and that all personsover seventy years of age are invited irrespective of sex creed color or condition I They will have a free pass from this city to Ogden free rides on the street cars to and from the Union Pacific depot and free entertainment from the hospitable people of Weber county who i have > kindly volunteered to receive and care forthem r This yearly exhibition kindness and I respect to old age is a pleasing c iit I < 1 tom and oue that ought to be perpetuated It is prompted by the very best impulses of the heart and those higher impules that sprint from the cultivated tivated mind Honor to old age is the very opposite of the savage instinct and is a mark of the most advanced civilization civiliza-tion It Is to be hoped that there wIll be a general response to the invitation extended j tended and to the call for aid from the benevolent The generosity of the Union Pacific company and the street railroad companies ana the largeheartedness of the Ogden people are to be highy commended com-mended while the persistent philan thropy and energy of the Old Folks committee com-mittee who for so many yeaes have conducted con-ducted this annual excursion and tribute of respect to the aged are entitled to praise far beyond our feeble language to express
