Show AN INDEFINITE ENTENCE Henry Rost Thinks It About Time HeWas Released HABEAS CORPUS PETITION Many Green Goods Circulars Turned Over to the Postmaster Two Hardened Tenths Convicted of Petit larceny Bar Room Battle The righting Cooks TittyCent Fine for Wife Beating A petion for a writ of habeas corpus was filed in the Third District court yesterday by Henry H Host through his attorneyS attorney-S P Armstrong The petitioner shows to the court that he is being unlawfully imprisoned in the county jail It is further fur-ther shown that Host pleaded guilty to embezzlement in Commissioner Pratts court on September 7 1892 and he was fined f 250 and costs and ordered to be committed com-mitted until both fine and costs had been paid The petitioner holds that the judgment judg-ment was illegal on the grounds that the commissioner had no jurisdiction to render ren-der a judgment which amounts to an imprisonment im-prisonment of over six months and that I it was not stated in the judgment how long the defendant should be imprisoned for each dollar of the said fine and costs I The hearing will come up before Judge Zane tomorrow morning at 10 oclock |
