Show A BURST PIPE It Caused a Flood Which Was Followed by a Famine About 830 yesterday morning a 16inch water main one of the old ones burst and almost completely flooded South Temple and Main streets for some time No cause can be assigned for the breakage break-age other than that the pipe just burst with no apparent reason Although not a great deal of damage of serious moment was done the break caused an inconvenience incon-venience to residents who depended upon this main for their water supply Of course as soon as the breakage was discovered the connection was broken and this left many persons without either water for drinking for cooking I A hose was coupled to the hydrant in front of the Z C M I and run around II I 1 into the Templeton This gave them i plenty of water and allowed the elevator I I which is hydraulic and had been dead to resume operations The other residents resi-dents less fortunate than the Templeton I were forced to get along as best they could until the main was repaired A large force of men was at work all day and about 9 oclock last night connection connecton I was again made |
