Show Barbershop Quartets At The Fair FARMINGTON Barbershop Barber-shop quartets will add a musical music-al note to the 1981 Davis County Coun-ty Fair. The annual Davis County Barbershop Quartet competition is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on the opening day of the fair, Thursday Aug. 20 at Lake Park Terrace at Lagoon. MRS. MAXINE Smith, contest con-test chairman, said judging is scheduled in two divisions-men divisions-men and women. All contestants contes-tants must be high school age or over and at least two members mem-bers of each group must reside in Davis County. Each quartet must present two numbers, one ballad and one rhythm type. No accompaniment accom-paniment is allowed, the chairman chair-man said. JUDGING WILL be based on harmony accuracy, balance and blend, stage presence and voice expression. First place winners in each division will receive trophies and cash awards and will be eligible to compete in the 1981 Utah State Fair Barbershop Quartet Com-petion Com-petion in September. Second and third place winners will receive re-ceive cash awards. Entrants are required to complete an official entry form which can be obtained from Mrs. Smith, 161 E. 1050 N., Bountiful. Entry deadline is August 15. |
