BLODGETT BOUNTIFUL - It's one thing to become a grandparent . .But to become a grandparent twice in little more than one hour has got to be a little un-w un-w usual. IT HAPPENED last week to Daniel A. and Felicia Keeler, of Bountiful, when their two daughters gave birth to boys just 63 minutes apart at Lake-view Lake-view Hospital. The two little newborns are the sons of Linda and G. Lymon Jackson. 3 122 Orchard Drive, Bountiful; and Susan and Brad Welling. 282 Wall Street, Apartment No. 1, Salt Lake City. AND THE two sisters were able to share the same room, No. 36, on second floor of Lakeview Hospital. They even share the same physician. Dr. Ray Sumsion. Linda's baby was born first -- by cesarean - at 8: 1 3 a.m. on August 4. At 9: 16 a.m., which hardly gave the physician a breather in between, Susan gave birth to a boy. BOTH BABIES are identical 19': inches long, but Linda's baby, born a little premature because of the cesarean delivery, deliv-ery, weighed only 6 pounds 15 ounces while Susan's baby tipped tip-ped the scale at 8 pounds 3 ounces. It was the fourth child, making mak-ing three boys and a girl, for Linda and the second boy to be born to Susan. AND TO carry on the similarity, simi-larity, both newborns are being named with names starting start-ing with "J". Linda and Lymon will name their fourth child Jeffrey James while Susan and Brad have chosen John Daniel, the middle name honoring the child's grandfather. grand-father. Linda arrived at the hospital Monday to prepare for cesarean cesa-rean delivery the next morning. morn-ing. Susan knew her sister w as in the hospital when she arrived ar-rived early (1:45 a.m.) Tuesday Tues-day morning. LINDA TOLD her "you'd better hurry, I've got an extra bed in my room but it won't last long." Getting the same room with her sister was first on the agenda w hen Susan arrived ar-rived early Tuesday morning. "We knew our births would be kind of close together, but not this close," they agreed. AND THE parents agreed that having their daughters in the same room makes it more convenient. "Now we don't have to share our visiting time in two different rooms; we can all visit together." they said. And for the special occasion. occa-sion. Grandpa Keeler wrote a poem for his two little grandsons grand-sons and their mothers. Part of the poem goes: "WE SHOULD be beating two tom-toms and waving two pom-poms to celebrate two little lit-tle boys and their Moms." |
