Show Miners in Convention at Mercnr I The miners of the Camp Floyd district dis-trict held a convention yesterday afternoon after-noon at Mercur for the purpose of considering con-sidering the bylaws for the district I C C Higgins occupied the chair and Fred Bromley recorded the busihess transacted by the convention I The former set of bylaws was repealed re-pealed and a new set was reported by I a committee made up of George Regan A N Butts and John McFarlane I These laws follow closely thore repeal jed j-ed except in sections 9 and 10 where some important changes are made I I The first section named S2ts out that j hereafter all locators must within thirty days move 200 cubic feet of I earth and rock where the claim is readily worked but in the event of blasting being necessary then 100 feet I I or more shall be moved Notice of location j lo-cation must be filed with the district I recorder within thirty days Section 10 sets out that locators must mark their claims at the point of discovery with a substantial monument bearing II the names of the claims and the locators lo-cators with full description of the properties and the date of location I Each corner is also to be marked with substantial monuments I The bill introduced by Senator Stewart Stew-art in the Senate which is calculated I to reduce the amount of the annual assessment as-sessment work to 50 was condemned I in a resolution offered by Mr Ryan l |
