Show MXIiILI4 AS RECEIVER JKt Occasioned Xo SuryriNC in tlc j Vision 1aeific OJllce Omaha Neb June 25The appointment appoint-ment of Edwin McNeil a receiver of the Oregon Railway Navigation company com-pany created no surprise at Union Pacific headquarters where it has been expected for some time Traffic agreements will continue and i will not affect either company I is now asserted that J P OBrien general gen-eral superintendent of the Iowa Central Cen-tral will have charge of the operating department of the Oregon company and that a number of employees of the Union Pacific will be given similarly responsible positions there Mr McNeil has expressed a desire to take care of as many Union Pacific mn as possible although the auditing department will probably be run with a less force than when the road was formerly an independent company before be-fore i amalgamated with the Union n n n Pacific A Gavin chief division clerk in Mr I Southards department has accepted the position of chief of passenger accounts 1 ac-counts with the Oregon company J B Livingston chicf clerk under A J Van Kuran freight auditor has accepted ac-cepted Uu position of chief clerk of freight accounts under Mr Benson who will be the auditor of the Oregon company Mr Livingston is also an old timer on the Union Pacific naving been for seven years chief clerk in Mr Van Kurans department previous to which he was for many years a traveling auditor on the Kansas Colorado I J divisions of the Union Pacific < As to the order having been given I that all roiling stock belonging gen Union Pacific will b sent east from Portland Mr Orr private secretary to the receivers said he could not vouch for the correctness of the rumor Ho stated that the Oregon compan would have quite an equipment to begin business bus-iness but could not specify the number of engines or cars without going to engne I conslucrable trouble |
