Show AN INQUEST No Light Thrown ou the Finding of the Foetus Coroner Taylor and a jury yesterday yester-day investigated as thoroughly as possible pos-sible into the death of the prematurely premature-ly born babe found by Officer Busby in the main lobby of the postoffice Tuesday morning and a verdict wan returned setting out the belief of the jurors that the little one came to its death through an abortion performed I by a person or persons unknown and upon some woman likewise unknown They recommended the passage of an act by the Legislature creating a fund for the payment of officers in searching I search-ing out the perpetrators of such crimes From the hour of the finding of the body Coroner Taylor devoted himself to the case and although he succeeded in finding a number of clews lid was unable to fasten the crime with any degree of certainty and when the jury took the matter into its hands the curtain of uncertainty had not been drawn aside But few additional facts were brought out at the hearing The little body has been buried but the case will not be allowed to pass out of the official records but on the contrary con-trary the coroner and the other proper pro-per officers will keep it fresh in their minds |
