Show IN THE ELEVENTH 1VARD I John 1 Caiiie and A 1 Schroeder I Enunciate Democratic Doctrine I At the meeting of the Democrats of i the Eleventh ward held in the Eleventh ward school house last evening eve-ning J W Whitehead presided Despite De-spite the inclemency of the weather a goodly number of Democrats turned out and warmly endorsed the remarks of the speakers but owing to an unfortunate unfortu-nate combination of circumstances Fisher Harris and Parley L Williams failed to appear Hon John T Caine addressed the meeting citing facts and figures which would have convinced the most skeptical skep-tical of the truth of Democracys tenets ten-ets etsThe The speaker said that i the Democrats Demo-crats wanted to win the battle they must go in to win they must work hard not only to put their standard bearer J L Rawlins in Congress but more important they must gain a majority jority in the constitutional assembly s that the 7th of November next will be a day of unlimited rejoicing among the Democrats Hon A T Schroeder then arose and said that in all countries and in all times the governing classes and the masses were struggling for political supremacy su-premacy and urged those present to do their utmost in helping the cause of Democracy which was the cause of the masses The speaker impressed upon the minds of his hearers the necessity of hard work before the time for labor is tme passed and said there must be a clause put into our constitution prohibiting the legislature the power of using public pub-lic money for private purposes Lool ing over those present the speaker said he was sure that all present wee staunch Democrats and needed no urg lag to send them forward He concluded conclud-ed his remarks by urging them one cause and all to work unceasingly for the |
