Orders r Notwithstanding the many counter attractions at-tractions last week was n fairly good ono amongst the secret society people All tho orders aid a fair amount of work and the gutlook for a Busy time in the near future is very good Masonic Mount Momh lodge met on Monday night m regular session There was no degree de-gree work and the regular routine business busi-ness occupied the tune Argenta lodgo on Tuesday evening bad a good meeting at which the entered apprentice appren-tice degree was conferred on Messrs H M Gushing W R Grant and W J Shot well wellOn On Friday evening Wasatch lodge held its regular meeting and the Shrine met on Wednesday in regular session The funeral of the late W J Cook who met his death by falling down too shaft of the Monterey mine was conducted under the auspices of Mount Moriuh lodge There was a large attendance of the brethren I breth-ren The interment took place at Mount Olivet cemetery in the plat belonging to the lodge Brother Cook was admitted to membership in Mount Month lodge by card and strange to say he was elected after his death Tho acci dent which resulted fatally occurred at 4 p m and at 9 p in of the same day he was bollotted for and duly elected a member of the lodge the brethren at that time not being aware of his demise KnIghts or Pythias All three lodges met and had degree work j On Monday night Calantho lodge held its usual session with a very fair attendance and worked in the Pages rank Two candidates can-didates Messrs Hardman and Wouldhave were initiated into the mysteries of that ranK Myrtle lodge met on Tuesday night and conferred the second rank on two candi dates Messrs Monroo and Olson The meeting was a very good one and a truly fraternal time was enjoyed On Thursday evening Rocky Mountain lodge had a characteristically largo meet ing and conferred the Esquires rank on two candidates Messrs E Maryon and J A Sullivan The regular business of tho lodge was transacted and a very interesting inter-esting session reported The Pythian Sisters had a good mooting on Saturday evening There was no degree de-gree work but the attendance was good and a pleasant social time was enjoyed The dedication of the new K of P hall will take placo in tho near future The grand lodgo officers will poi form the ceremonies cere-monies A O V W Everything was quiet in A O U W circles thopast week Mihan went to Idaho on Tuesday in responco to a cell from tileD D G M W of that jurisdic tion to institute a number of new lodges in that field S Order Sods of isfc Hcorgo The Sons of St George held their first concert for tho season at the Temple of Honor hall to a well cultivated and appreciative appre-ciative audience Tho place was well filled although it was conference week and ao many other attractions to draw away its memb rs and their friends Still they were true to their colors and rallied round their standard like true born Britons it being evident by the fact that oVflrv soug recitation and speech received an encore and it will not be saying too much for the officers and programme committee to congratulate them upon tho complete success of their work The concerts which are to be repeated the flrat Wednes > dny in each month during the season are bound to become very popular especially es they are givemvithout money and wlihont prico the Sic Knights themselves them-selves paying all expenses out of their own pockets as no money is allowed to be taken out of the lodgo funds for such purposes The nextconcet will be held nextconcpitwmbe as social as well when they ever syent in their lives The following is the programme rendered at the concert Solo on tho organ F A Merrill Opening Open-ing speech by W P Alfred Brown in which ho most graphically pictured the aims and objects of the order showing the benefits derived by all Englishmen wile were fortunate enough to become members mem-bers the pleasant associations that were their privilege to enjoy by associating with their own countrymen as well as the lifelong life-long friendships that were cemented by coming m contact with those whom they would not meet with in any other way ana the benefits derived from tho lodge in a pecuniary view earnestly exhorting all those who were not members to take advantage ad-vantage of thp privilege held out to them and join the lodge at once The next on the programmo was a solo on the zither rendered by Walter Grow in a very creditable manner Recitation Longfellows Psalm of Life by W S William M Brown song Tho Storm Fien by J Robinson the splendid baritone singer who won tho first prize in the grand Mutest in tile tabernacle tab-ernacle against nil comers it was rendered in such grand style that it well deserved tho encore it received to which he kindly responded by giving them tho Old Brigade with brilliant affect The ilext to respond to the call was the old favorite Miss Criasie Lawaon vita her grand contralto voico who favored the vice president 1 W G Mills in which he ably portrayed tue advantages the sisters would enjoy by forming an order to be called The Daughters oft George A man ought to lova his wife better than any other woman still be would love his mother and his sisters just the same so it would be with a woman she would love her husband hus-band hotter than any other man still sho would love her father and brothers just the same BO the ladies might form an order of tho Daughters of St George thereby closing the bonds of love more tightly together to-gether I The next to favor the company was i another of the favorites Miss Mnudo Pratt who has a moat beautiful powerful voice in which she rendered Dear Heart very melodiously and woll deserved an encore en-core to which she responded by giving Ibo closing odo to the tune of Auld Lang Syne by the whole audience closed the proceedings In future the regular meetings will be held every week instohd of every two woel until further notice therefore it is earnestly requested that all Sir Knights will be on hand at every meeting and endeavor en-deavor to make them aaJl ter sting as possible pos-sible especially the first Wednesday in eich month at the last meeting and made a Sir Knight All those who join the Order Sons of St George are recommended recom-mended by one of the brothers as being of English blood a man of character and good moral Association The Railway Employees Fraternal Benefit Bene-fit association met on Friday evening at the K of P hall Tile regular routine work was gone through and the restof the evening spent in discussing railway matters The outlook for the lodge is very good Nearly all who have joined have taken advantage of the insurance department depart-ment The full regalia has arrived for members and officers and soon the railway tiebuttonette will be in fashion President I Presi-dent W P P St Clair made remarks upon II I the desirability all members making it a point to ba on hand promptly for the drop of the gavel Past President W A Robertson reported that he would at once engage a good man to secure additional addi-tional membership from the numerous railway employees of this city and
