Great Development in Railroad Work Tousnd of cars are now being ordered or-dered by the transportation lines One order has just been placed for 10000 cars for the Pennsylvania lines west of Pitts burg The Union Pacific has ordered 5000 the MissouriT Pacific 8000 the Baltimore and Ohio 4000 the Hocking Hock-ing Valley and the Ingalls syndicate 2000 each and th New York Central 3000 This seems to show the general advance in railroad interests over two or three years ago when an order for 1000 cars was considered a tremendously large one The quality of steel and iron used in car building has been improved increasing in-creasing the capacity of freight cars by 300 per cent While many of the old ten ton cars are still in use the majority of the specifications call for thirty tqn cars New York Commercial Advertiser
