Show sPRIhuv1ii J ITEMS IT HAS been snowing most all day THROTTOH AN effort made by the Merchants Union aided by the City Council Mr W H Bancroft snperin ten dent 01 the D R G W Ry kindly appropriated an engine and ten fiat cars with engineer fireman brakeman brake-man and conductor for the purpose of grading our main street the City Council Coun-cil and Merchants Union furnishing 1000 for use purpose of furnishing men to load and unload the gravel and as a starter have put sixty car loads of dirt ill the street today and expect to put in the same nmouiit for the next fifteen days to como Which will make our main street compare favorably with those of our neighbors on either side We are expecting tho bcom in the spring and should it come we want smooth roads for it to travel on MR JOHN S LINDSAY and company played A Celebrated Case at the theatre last evening to a very small house But those who attended speak of it as being a good play fairly well played I Mr Lindsay maintaining his ability as an actor and did remarkably well while the remainder of the parts were in the hands of amateurs who did well for beginners Our next in the shape of amusements is a musical concert con-cert by the blind musician wife and daughter 11 > 1rrQYJDuuT SIRIRGYILTE March 2 |
