Show TOO MANY CONDITIONS Are Imposed upon the Salt Lake Federal Building Bill JUDffB BREWER IS CONFIRMED Senator Koreans Resolution for theflecogni tion of the United Statesof Brazil House and Senate WASHINGTON Dec 18 fSpecial telegram t TUB HERALD The special meeting of the Senate committee on public buildings which Mr Stanford called this morning to onsider the bill appropriating 500000 for the new federal buildings at Salt Lake adjourned ad-journed without action owing to the unsatisfactory un-satisfactory manner in which the bill was drawn The cause of this lies not with the gentlemen who originally presented the bill but with the supervising architect to whom it was referred for revision This gentleman made the conditions attaching t the purchase of a site so numerous ando and-o arbitrary in their character a t meet with little favor with the Senate committee when the bill came before be-fore them this morning I was referred therefore for amendment to a subcorn mittee of which SenatorSpooner is chairman chair-man The disposition to vote the appropriation appro-priation on the part of the Senate committee com-mittee is very general and it is not improbable improb-able that a favorable report maybe made to the Senate within the next week Mr Caine introduced a bill of the same aharacter in the House today and there t as in the Senate the measure will be pushed forward rapidly as possible |
