ex-position of American skill aid were especially attracted by a new dogcart dog-cart on the English pattern CALLED THE GLADSTONE which would throw Into the shade the finest of the kind that dash through Hyde Park in London or the Kings Road at Brighton bearing the aristocracy of England The mountings of this vehicle are ouperb and all tne materials ma-terials used of the finest quality The body is of stamped vulcanized rubber black of a very unique pattern It is fitted with jump and reversible seats the latter being adjustable ad-justable on the principle of an opera chair to enable ladies to pass from one seat to the other without inconvenience incon-venience It is set on a side bar riff and is complete with Iamp3fecders etc of the latest and most approved pattern This wagon is somewhat ahead of the age here for general I use but would be very appropriate for a liv ry stable as English tourists tour-ists would take it out for a drive when they would not care for any other wagon Another vehicle which attracted considerable notice was the Lincoln STICK SEAT T CART a new and handsome open carriage on an original model the design having been Invented by a designer at the Studebaker works The Lincoln is a neat and very convenient wagon suitable suit-able for either family or livery The Survey Wagonwith stick seats is another English model which is a great favorite with families on I account of its roominess its comfort and its convenience It should be in this country as it is in England I the ne plus ultra of country carriages I ges for it is built in a style which I renders it especially suitable for a road wagon and is of such durabil j ity as will make it last a life time The Lawrence T cart is also a new design and is in all respects par excellence ex-cellence as a family carriage It possesses all modern improvements I and conveniences and evinces comfort com-fort in every fibre or it A COUPE ROCKA WAY 1 probably handsomest ever seen in the Territory had just arrived to fill aspecial order ot one of Salt Lakes leading citizens The up holstery and finishings are of the most exquisite materials and wok manship and there are modern attachments at-tachments of usefulness combined with its beauty even to a hand mirror and a con c bell to ston the coachman I The vast collection and variety of Curtain Bockawaya Extension Top Carriages and other models of family fam-ily vehicles absolutely baffles description de-scription The buggies comprising every style and fancy known to the trade on elliptic springs aide bars and side springs in the most graceful grace-ful and attractive patterns and mounted and finuhed in the highest style of the alt Among the buggies bug-gies is one called the WINDSOR TOP WAGON which is a beautiful side bar vehicle as ptetty as Maud S the queen of the turf and it has something so light and airy about it that the observer ob-server at once associates it with 220 in his minds eye This superb wagon wa-gon only wegbs 220 pounds Near It was noticed a cozy little English phaeon which had just been purchased pur-chased by George M Scott the hardware merchant and a light open road wagon of a handsome model which had been sold only a few hours before to Major Hill of the Horn Silver Company The most complete jump seat single or double carriage ever seen here was in this exposition hiving been brought here especially for Joseph Lnnt a prominent Ptocfeman of N epbi When rigged or a single seat the back seat folds under the forward one without a particle of trouble and when it is desired to have two seats the back one is fdded tack ant the forward one is slid forward to make space for passengers pas-sengers In its single form it U like a single phaeton end in Its double form it Is a light and convenient T cart Nothing was ever invened which was more suitable for a family carriage A TRAVELING WAGON Made to order especially for FeJ Myers Is a novelty its way f das d-as complete as can be imagined in every particular It is rigged with a magnificBnt double leverage brakp and seats upholstered with horsehair horse-hair which can be folded down and transformed at a moments notice Into a regular Walker House bed It has a rack for baggage and every other convenience that the mind of man can invent Besdes these few special attrac lions to be seen in this wonderful exhibition there are a thousand others which cannot be mentioned here but which should be seen and apprclated by every person in the city and by everyone who comes in from the country On Inquiry of Mr Glass as to where these splendid wagons and i carriages are made he said that they I were all manufactured at the works of Studebaker Bros at South Bend Indiana where tbe force employed is 1200 men i the I works are four stories In height the floorage surface of twenty acres the works are lighted with fiftyeight electric lamps the buildings lumber > I lum-ber sheds yards etc coyer eighty I acres the bmber used is seasoned from three to five years before being be-ing worked to carefully note the operation of each branch of the work would require a weeks time more than half a million people in Lake City This branch consists of a two story and basement brick building 41 by 100 feet and a yard In the rear 220 by 65 feet every foot of which is occupied by the stock in trade which consist at no time of less than 300 complete outfits leady to be delivered The annunl tale of thl central branch aone amount to 1000 vehicles TWO FEATURES which make the Studebaker wag ona especial favorites among
