WITH THIS question foremost in their minds, a small group of interested people met at the home of Lyle and Sheri Cole in the early spring of 1974. From that meeting the Community Theatre was formed. Sheri Cole was the first chairman of the board. That first year one production was presented--a Christmas production of "Camelot." FOR FIVE years the theatre has struggled, going through many hard times. But the shows produced have been . quality and the number of ,, people involved have more than countered the problems. After Mrs. Cole the chairmen chair-men have been Marsha Hambleton, David Irvine, Judy Wright and this year Ann Lolli. Next year Bryan Bowles will take over the leadership of the theatre. THE THEATRE is recognized recog-nized as one of the most successful suc-cessful in the mountain west. It is possibly the only one that has total open auditions for every show. No one is ever pre-cast. The theatre has given many people an opportunity to explore and develop their talents. People from all walks of life have joined in the orchestra, painting scenery, sewing costumes, putting on makeup, operating sound equipment, and helping with lights as well as singing, dancing, acting, and directing. direct-ing. THE THEATRE is now associated as-sociated with the Community School system which aids in the arrangements for places to put on the plays as well as financial. Three years ago, the Theatre Guild was organized to help the progress of the theatre. Charlene Jensen accepted ac-cepted the challenge of organizing or-ganizing the guild. THE FUTURE of the theatre is really up to the "audience." The people in the community must give their support, by attending plays, or the play "won't go on!
