Show Montanas Delegate Hon Martin Maginnis Montanas Delegate to Congress and in that capacity a member of the Indian commission informs the Butte Miner that all the reservation indians In-dians in Montana exceot the Flatheads Flat-heads consent to the terms proposed by the commission The Flatheads will probably agree to the cutting down of their reservation after their delegation visit Washington and have a talk with the Great Father The area of th se reservations has been reduced at least 75 percent thus throwing open to settlement a vast amount of some of the finest lands in the Territory The commission com-mission has done a good work which will be felt in the large addition addi-tion that will soon be made to the agricultural population In regard tMontanas admission as a State Mr Maginnis thinks that by the time application shall be made for her admission an arrangement arrange-ment may be made by which a Republican Territory will be admitted ad-mitted at the same time This will overcome any opposition which may be raised against her admission on the score of polities The Montana Mon-tana constitution he thinks should be framed with special regard for simplicity clearness and brevity i leaving out all matter which more properly belongs to legislative bodies to pass upon |
