| Show THE FRUIT PROSPECT 4 SAL LAKE IT April 281SEO Editors Herald Have yoa teen any peach blossoms yet I have not eecn one Tne apricots apri-cots are in bloom which is rather remarkable because many people dupDoso apricots are tenderer than peaches but this seasons experience says that peaches are tenderer than apricots The apricot is an earlier fri than the peach and consequently the wood ot the apricot is liable to ripen earlier in the fall than that of tbe peach which may make the former tree actually hardier than the latter Of ail our cultivated fruits the present prospect is that we shall have no peaches but considerable deadwood dead-wood vary few raspberries a fair crop of apricots and plenty of strawberries straw-berries currants gooseberries but for the mildew grapes at least the bardy ones cherries plums apples but for the grubs and pears I am inclined to think we shall have good crops of grain vegetables grass luceru without the final e and bay Anyway I hope so RURAL |
