Show The Provo Liquor Cases We glean the following from the Territorial Enquirer in relation to the liquor cases there The case of H J Moore came up before Alderman Tanner on change of venu from Justice Booths court on Wednesday last The greater part of the afternoon was occupied by counsel on arguments on demurrer I demur-rer which was finally overruled Jury impaneled E M Peck jun sworn testified to having got liquor from H J Moore on August 4 last I Moroni Stewart gave substantially the same evidence V L Halli I day city recorder testified to haying hay-ing in custody the bond of druggists keeping drug stores in this city Has no bond given by H J Moore In crosasexamination witness said he is custodian of all bonds given by all sellers of drugs and medicines in this city The prosecution rested whereupon counsel for defendant made motion to dismiss the case three reasons being given for this motion the last ana weightiest being be-ing that the defendant had not been arraigned and therefore had not plead It was discovered by the court that such was the case and the jury was thereupon dismissed Arguments were made by counsel for and against the dismissal of H J Moore |
