Davis High's "Music Man" I cast has been hard at work ; putting the final touches to j ; the school's musical to be j E presented in the Davis audi- i ; torium Feb. 18, 19 and 21. It j S promises to be a very enjoya- ble entertainment for the 1 whole family. 2 THE MUSICAL tells the 1 story of a get-rich-quick band ; instrument salesman in River .1 City, Iowa. The salesman, 2 Harold Hill, who makes a liv-2 liv-2 ing at other people's expense, 5 is played by Brett Frodsham. t The only flaw is that he knows nothing about music but plans to form a band using the "think system." When his scheme begins to fall through and the time comes for his usual exit, Professor Hill cannot leave nie Williams, points out to the people the new life and enthusiasm he has brought to River City. The town must now decide if Harold Hill is guilty and he must prove that he is not. Other cast members include Chris Jensen who will play Mrs. Paroo and Brett Smith, who will portray Harold's friend, Marcellus. Mayor Shinn will be played by Jeff Johnson; Mrs. Shinn by Karen Lee Barkdull; Jana Jacobs will be cast as the mayor's daughter Zaneeta; her boyfriend, Tommy, will be portrayed by Court Weaver; and Winthrop Paroo because he has fallen in love with the town librarian, Marian Paroo. WHEN HE is brought before the now hostile townsfolk, towns-folk, Marion, played by Bon-will Bon-will be played by Willie Car-den. Car-den. MISS GEORGIA Fairbanks is directing the musical and is also heading the music side of the performance, with Mark England as student director. Mrs. Clytie Adams is directing direct-ing the choreography and dance and Dana Rothles-berger Rothles-berger is the orchestra director. direc-tor. Show times will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19 and Monday, Feb. 21. Tickets may be purchased from cast members or at the door and the prices are family, $5; adults, $1.50; and students, 75 cents. THE PLAY will interest most types of audiences as it includes a variety of comedy, romance, adventure and music. |
