PAYNE 295-4287 Monday was a special day for the children at South Bountiful Elementary, as the room mothers arrived in early afternoon with treats and special games for Valentine's Valen-tine's Day. In addition, the distribution of valentines from classmates was enjoyed as part of the day's activities. Mrs. Lois Larrabee arrived home this past weekend after spending a week at LDS Hospital Hos-pital in Salt Lake City where she underwent major surgery and recuperation. Happiness at the Claude and Vema Harrison home as their son Maynard arrived home on Saturday after completing a Boston, Mass. LDS Mission. He served in many of the New England States, and completed his last assignment in Providence, R. I. A meeting to honor Elder Harrison will be held Sunday in Woods Cross Sixth Ward at 3:15 p.m. A family party is planned to honor Maynard later that same day, with Glen and Jeri Harrison and family of Hyrum and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Harrison of Helper invited with other local relatives for the event. Also met at the Salt Lake airport this past weekend was Elder Marty Anderson, son of Floyd and Annette Anderson. Neighbors and friends were on hand for the occasion and also plan to attend his homecoming, to be held Sunday Sun-day in Grantsville at 5:00 p.m. Some are returning and others leaving the area. Elder Paul Olsen will be honored at a Sacrament in Woods Cross Fifth Ward on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3 : 15 p.m. He is the son of Clifford and Afton Olsen and has been assigned to serve a LDS Mission in London, England. He is a recent Viewmont graduate and has been engaged in construction this past year. Also looking forward to an assignment to New York, Rochester LDS Mission is Miss Geri Lynn Haacke, daughter of Bud and Carol Haacke. She is the fifth girl in the area to be called in the past seven months. She will enter the mission home April 16. Congratulations to newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Overstreet who were married recently in Evans-ton, Evans-ton, Wyo. The bride is the former Miriam Anderson. On Saturday evening a shower to honor the couple was given at the home of Gloria Anderson, assisted by Melinda Weeks. Friends and neighbors were invited to enjoy this special occasion together. Mr. and Mrs. Dominic DiEsposti spent the past weekend visiting their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Tina) Pisciotta in Rockland, Idaho. Dana Baum accompanied his grandparents. |
