Show Damaged Truck Donated To VSC A damaged truck to be used for instructional purposes has been donated to Weber State College by Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corp. THE four-wheel drive vehicle, valued at $9,000 offered of-fered for sale undamaged, will be used by auto mechanics and other classes in the WSC Engineering- Technology School, said Dr. Dale S. Cowgill, school dean. Under terms of the gift, General Motors requires that Weber State agrees not to operate the vehicle, but to use it for educational purposes only. THE GIFT was handled through the Merrill Bean Chevrolet Agency, 3535 Wall Street, Ogden. Institutions receiving gifts of the damaged Chevrolet vehicles must be non-profit organizations. AFTER FIVE years of the Chevrolet donation programs, damaged cars and trucks and test cars have been turned over to schools and institutions institu-tions in most of the 50 states, said Hal Kassin, Chevrolet's national director of service operations. Appreciation for the gift was expressed by Dean Cow-gill, Cow-gill, who said WSC technology students will be able to study the components and systems of the donated vehicle in their shops and classrooms. |
