Show By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 Dr. Wallace Jensen spent last week with his mother, Mrs. Edward Jensen. He took his mother to visit relatives in Moroni, Saturday. They visited visit-ed Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christensen and Mrs. Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Jacobson and their families. Dr. Jensen was happy to visit his birthplace in Moroni. He left Sunday for his home in Albany, New York. He has a wife and three children awaiting his return. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ked-dington Ked-dington entertained at a cookout Saturday evening in their newly remodeled palio. There were six guests present. Mrs. Robert Keddington, Mrs. Wallace E. Hess and Mrs. Bertha Muir celebrated Bertha's 62 wedding day last Thursday, Sept. 8. They drove to Manti where they visited the Manti LDS Temple. They ate lunch in Ephraim and visited in Spring City which is noted for many pioneer log buildings. These are being preserved as a national na-tional shrine. They visited at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Stewart Slin-gerland Slin-gerland in Provo and saw five of Bertha's greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ledingham of Ogden were Bountiful visitors Saturday. Her brother Clyde Lundberg is recovering from hip surgery sur-gery in the Lakeview Hospital. Hospi-tal. Utah Boys Town has expanded ex-panded its child care capacity from 36 to 84 boys. A large fund raising project is now in progress to pay for the new buildings. Ken Price is new j director of the child care project. Dick Forsyth will take over the management of all physical properties, purchasing and maintenance. By October 1 the Boys State board must have (70,000 to be able to proceed with i improvements. The sheriff's department of Davis County has hired the first woman on the staff. Linda Lin-da Burningham who has been working for the past four and a-half years in the sheriff's ! office has been employed by the department. She will work with women prisoners as she j has been doing. Sheriff j William Lawrence says his i department will process over 100 women prisoners in 1977. He says Mrs. Burningham is well qualified for her new position. Mr. Wilford Keddington is ! home from the Lakeview Hospital where he has undergone under-gone treatement. He is reported to be much better. Mrs. Irene Earl is in the Valleyview Hospital where she has been for ten days for treatment and observation. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keddington Ked-dington were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Parker on Sunday Sun-day Sept. 11. Mrs. Parker is their daughter Susan, who was recently married. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Piepgrass and Mr. and Mrs. Max Brown spent the weekend in Huntsville. They joined a number of friends who all have campers and met for weekend trips and study once a month. Patriarch C. Douglas Barnes, a former president of the New Zealand North Mission, Mis-sion, was the speaker at the Bountiful Utah Central Stake Sunday evening Sept. 11. He displayed slides of New Zealand 'Then and Now." On Sept. 18 the Bountiful Utah Stake will be hosts at a fireside. Dale M. Valentine former president of the Texas South Mission. He is working for the church in Latin America where exciting things are happening will be the speaker. The host will be Bountiful Utah South Stake. Maurine Young has been appointed as division volunteer volun-teer consultant for the Salt Lake Chapter American Red Cross. She will be working with services to military families. Maurine has served as chairman of services to military mili-tary familes for over 14 years and two years as fund chairman chair-man in the Sanpete County Chapter. She is a former president of the business and professional women's club and has been awarded the Woman of the Year award by BPW. |
