Show Building Permit Okayed For City's Liquor Outlet BOUNTIFUL - The Bountiful Boun-tiful City Council has given preliminary approval to a building permit for a facility that could house the city's liquor outlet. TO BE constructed at 1151 So. 500 W., the building could be utilized for a number of commercial purposes, including possible site of the Bountiful state liquor outlet presently housed in part of the Duerden's Appliance and TV Building at 416 West 500 South. Two other sites may be considered for the outlet including one adjacent to Sunset Sports Center at about 420 West 500 South and a portion por-tion of Winegar's Market on South Orchard Drive. IN explaining the procedure for locating a new site, Liquor Commission Area Supervisor Norm Asmus said it was routine rou-tine to seek several bids for a location when a lease is due to expire. The Duerden's lease ends May 1. He said that site could be considered but officials have been concerned about a "weight problem" there because of a wooden floor and a possible need for additional space. But he added there had been no difficulties with the owners. BIDS WERE to be opened today at 5 p.m., Liquor Commission, Com-mission, 1G25 South 900 West in Salt Lake City. The commission presently leases locations'" but is "talking about a building program," Mr. Asmus said. "We're not budgeted in building our ow n but it would mean considerable savings for the taxpayer and would make lor a uniform style building." HE ADDED that the governor gover-nor had "indicated interest" in such a plan but said no lurther discussion had been held, tb |
