Show K7sff mWL By ALICE MITCHELL 295-1156 Once again everyone is reminded that during December the stake will be presenting the "Messiah." Those interested in singing or playing musical instruments should notify their ward music coordinators. The Second Ward outing will be held on Aug. 12 and 13. Members are invited to enjoy this overnight activity. Marci Lee, niece of the John Lees was honored at a bridal shower at the home of the Dan Mitchells. Hostesses for the evening were Camille and Alice Mitchell. The evening's even-ing's activities centered around the tying of a quilt. Myrveldean and Stan Dan-gerfield Dan-gerfield entertained nephew Dan Haines of Tennessee and wife Patty. They were accompanied ac-companied by Patty's sister Chris and their children. Celia Merrell and husband entertained their daughter Joyce and husband Joe Virgin of Las Vegas. They also had granddaughter Lisa. Grandson Grand-son Merrell was at home at scout camp. The Jim Holbrooks are grandparents. Daughter Cindy and husband Dee are the parents of a baby boy who came a little early. The Del Nobles were surprised with a visit from Del's-cousins from Kentucky this week. The Butlers from the Third Ward are back from their vacation. Many of the students of Bountiful Jr. High School will be interested to learn that Barbara Anderson, daughter of Mrs. Marilyn Andersfln, math teacher, is planning a Sept. 9 wedding to Bill Wal-pole. Wal-pole. Marilyn is the niece of Esther and Irv Layton. The George Knightons entertained en-tertained Roger Knighton and wife from San Diego, Calif, with their two girls Angela and Rosie and son Sam. The Eugene Kremers are always doing things. Janis has been taking tennis lessons with Anita Holbrook, her partner. Curt has been working for Dr. Swift in Wyo. Daughter Kelly Johnson has finished her work at the beauty college and is now taking her exams to be an instructor. in-structor. Betty Child traveled to California and the Los Angeles An-geles area. She visited Disneyland, Dis-neyland, the beach and Knotts Berry Farm. She spent some fun time with the DeChamplains, who had visited with the Childs recently. The Haslams had a great trip to Sweetwater, where they entertained guests son Jeff and wife, Scott Henderson, Hender-son, Courtney Johnson and Mike Hess. Carol Butler returned from a trip to Europe, where she visited with her son. She brought her daughter-in-law home with her. The Jerry Nielsons are in the process of changing their whole scene. They are moving to St. George. We wish them well in their change. The Gerald Browns have had a good time going up to the family cabin in Kamas. It is located on the road to Mirror Lake and is in another gorgeous area. The Paul Buys had a welcome wel-come change last week. They attended the American Festival Fes-tival of the West at Logan. Their host for the evening was their son Lawrence Buys. They enjoyed the displays and the parade, but enjoyed eating eat-ing ice cream with a native American, an 80-year-old Indian In-dian woman, more than anything. Lenah Casper had a welcome wel-come change as she journeyed jour-neyed to Idaho Falls to see her youngest son, Bishop Jay Casper, set apart as a bishop. He and his wife and daughters visited with Lenah in Utah last week. She has been happy to have her husband's brother, Floyd Casper, with her from California. In fact, Lenah says it's nice to have a man around the house again. Ron Bangerter again bragged about the Young Adults of the Stake. They recently had a trip to the high Uintas. The Second Ward outing will be held today, tonight (Friday), and Saturday, August 12 and 13 at Camp Zarahemla. From 5 to 7 p.m., dinner will be enjoyed. Everyone brings his own dinner and breakfast. The ward will provide watermelon. water-melon. From 7:30 to 8:15 p.m., there will be a program of talents and skits, games for all and a movie for children in the lodge. LaRue P. Hugoe and family are happy to report that son Steven and wife Lenore Peterson Pe-terson are the parents of a girl. She will join two brothers. Esther and Irv Layton traveled to West Salt Lake City to attend an open house in honor of their nephew Orson Or-son Clay and wife Diane of Texas. They enjoyed visiting with brother, Van Clay and wife Edith, with Maurice Clay, the Dan Mitchells and other relatives and friends, i The party was held at the home of Orson's parents, the George Clays. Primary will begin in the various wards in the stake the week after Labor Day. The First Ward will convene beginning Thursday, September Sep-tember 8. The Second Ward will begin on September 6 at 3:45 p.m. Janet Dnagerfield has been visiting in Arizona. The Charles Evans re-t re-t turned home from a great trip to California in the Long Beach area. There they visited visit-ed with their uncle, Sol Harris. They went on to Tijuana. They went deep sea fishing and got some beauties in their catch. Their itinerary included Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World, Universal Studio and San Diego area and beaches. Ruby's parents, brother, sister and children were also along totaling 17 in the party. They're planning their next year's vacation together. |
