Former West Bountifulites, the Ned Whitings, are dickering dicker-ing to get land to move back into the Second Ward. The Glen Haslams are living in the former Ron Freestone home. And the week has seen much change (money) pass back and forth as students and parents have been getting ready for school the last week in August. This will bring a desired change for many mothers, as their youngsters leave their "nest" for a few hours each day. Lee Winegar hopes that there will be a change in his neck during the years. He is again wearing a neck brace or collar. He has had problems with his neck before, but thinks he's had his share of such things. Best to him. It was good to see Mary Harper back at church last Sunday. She's been visiting with her children and new grandchildren again. The First Ward members enjoyed the Spiritual Presentation Presen-tation in Sunday School given by Steve and Chris Arbuckle. Registration for West Bountiful Elementary School was done Tuesday, August 9. If anyone is desirous of more information concerning registration, please contact Dixie Nebeker, PTA president. First and Second Ward choir members are reminded of their practice next Sunday. They will sing in conference in September. First Ward cookbooks are on sale for $5 each. Contact Jean Maughan and buy some to swell the building fund. One of the most wonderful things about this planet is the manner in which the flowers and plants grow and flourish each year. Often times we don't look at the beauty of the earth from one day to the next. Del Noble,- Lamar Noble, Dean Salmon, Garth Hogan and Gordon Pace of Bountiful packed in with former West Bountifulite Wayne Winegar and son Tommy Winegar, Dr. Bittner and Dr. Clyde Dailey of Layton, went to the Teton wilderness with two pack horses and ten saddle horses. They traveled along the Continental Con-tinental Divide and viewed the head of the Yellowstone. Garth reports that the fish they caught were delicious when fried for breakfast and that the wild flowers were more beautiful than ever. The Scott Gapinskis enjoyed en-joyed attending the recent family reunion, where Paul and Linda Gapinski were welcomed back to the states, after their time on TDY in Germany. Paul and wife are happy that their house is getting get-ting "fixed up." They're all happy that one of the sons was able to find his way back after af-ter sincere praying. He had been lost in Yellowstone. Ruby Olsen has been having a good time entertaining her grandchildren. Cheri and Robin Moody from Provo. Karen's children, Julie, Lori, Shanna, Ticker and Lance have been with her from Seattle. Among those enjoying enjoy-ing Ruby's hospitality are Sherry and Bobby Bergen, children of Dorothy's daughter. Welcome to newcomers in the Third Ward area: Steven and Marilyn Slater of 675 W.; VerGean and Patrick Burnham and two children of 725 W.; Sue and James Day and two children of 675 W.; Richard and LuAnn Bingham of 675 W.; Mark and Elain Page, who live in the Kunz basement. Congratulations to Linda and Henry Ricard in the birth of their baby girl. We hope that all goes well with parents and baby. We are sorry to learn that Debbie and Dave Plummer had the misfortune to come home after vacation to find their home on fire. The fire caused some $35,000 damage. Fast Meeting in the Third Ward was a busy place last Sunday afternoon. Loraine Pack was appointed visiting teaching message leader and September genealogical leader; Carol Butler will be the organist in the second session Relief Society; Bruce and Teresa Talbot's baby girl was blessed by her father; Brenda Dawn Chapman was blessed by Glen Haslam. The Chapmans are friends of Jeff Haslam. Jeff and Gail Haslam's son, Jeffery Ryan, was named by his grandfather Glen Haslam; John David Pack was named by his father. John Pack; Mandy Biehn was named by father Joel Biehn; Scott Gary Bangerter was blessed and named by his father Gary Bangerter. Lavon and Dennis Williams and family and the Gary Biehns and family had a campout in the area of Kamas. The kids had fur fishing. Linda Scott enjoyed attending attend-ing camp with her Cub Scouts. |
