Show Windmills Are Hope Of Power Last year three U.S. windmill wind-mill manufacturers, operating operat-ing full-blast, sold 4,000 new windmills. County agents all over the country were called upon to help advise on, or repair, many of the 250,000 remaining in the countryside. AS THE cost of electric power increases, the trend back to windmills is accelerating. ac-celerating. Practically all of the 1976 trend involved auxiliary au-xiliary power windmills not full power, expensive systems now under study by the federal government. Auxiliary power plants sell from as little as two thousand dollars and can save up to fifty dollars a month in electric bills in many parts of the country. THAT MEANS the initial cost can be paid off in a few years and after that there's only maintenance and savings and a reserve source of power, if and when the primary source fails. |
