Show f,i - - s-y 4 .-'W A r!1 : y-j . : OPENING SOCIAL A new and exciting year is in the planning for our Youth. September 7th we will hold our opening social. We will be square dancing with Von Brown as caller. We promise a fun and exciting evening for everyone . APYW for the handicapped includes the youth which are either mentally or physically Leaders of the APYW for the Handicapped, helping with plans for the opening social, are, front 1 to r, Zada MaCay, Elaine Mower, Kerry Mower, Danny Reed. Second row, President James Hunter, Peggy Rawlins, Sharon Mower, Becky Moss, President Ida Davis, Harriet Sheffield, Clyde Watson. Third row, Ed Garrett, Lena Go-ble, Go-ble, counselor; and Corrie Asmus. handicapped. They range in f age from 14 up into the forties. for-ties. We have youth from all over the area attend. Some come as far as Salt Lake Citv to the south and to the north as far as Sunset. We hold our meetings every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the West Bountiful First Ward Chapel, 311 North 800 West. We are under the supervision of the Bountiful Utah West Stake. OUR youth are given many opportunities. They participate par-ticipate in plays, dances, service ser-vice projects, standard night, camping, scouting. This year the boys went to Camp Frontier Fron-tier on the East Fork of the Bear River. Their scoutmaster scout-master is Ed Garrett and his assistant is Clyde Watson. The girls went to Camp Piuta. Ida Davis was their advisor and Becky Moss assistant as-sistant advisor. We attend our camps with different stakes in the area. Our youth also present sacrament meetings all over the valley. They give two meetings each month. Thev have been asked to do this by the general board. BETTY Holmes organized this MIA four and one-half years ago and has seen a lot of growth in these special young people. This year the APYW is under new leadership: Ida Davis is president with Lena Goble as her counselor. We will be starting with a new Young Adult Program under the direction of Harriet Sheffield. James Hunter is president of the young men.
