Show Dogs May Not Run Loose: Law Bountiful City ordinance states that no dog can run loose, said Ed Clontz and Karen Saylor, Bountiful Animal control officers. All dogs must be kept at home in a fenced yard, chained or on a leash. A DOG license is required for each animal. If the dog is lost, animal control officers can trace the license number and return the dog. Officers say that, it a dog is lost, owners should call 295-2301 extension 236 and describe the animal fully. Owners should report the dog's license number if he is wearing his tag. Mrs. Saylor said, since Davis County officers of-ficers also patrol Bountiful, it is also necessary to call the Davis pound at 295-2394, extension ex-tension 256. The pound keeps dogs three days before they are destroyed. ANIMAL control officers say anyone finding a lost dog should report the same to them. "The quicker a dog is reported, the faster the dog can be returned to its owner," said Mrs. Saylor. Officers make every attempt at-tempt possible to return all dogs with licenses to their owners. They advise having pets neutered by a licensed veterinarian or at the Humane Society. The Bountiful ordinance or-dinance requires officers to handle dogs only, rk |
