Knox at the Hotel Utah. One long table was arranged with a variety va-riety of spring flowers in an oblong wicker basket. Long-3temmed Japanese iris in purple and gold were combined ! with shell-pink tulips and Killarney roses; in a deeper pink, encircled with bunches of Cecil Brunner roses, iris and plumcvsa i ferns trailed from the basket along the ; cloth. Dun- A "WEDDING of interest in Salt Lake was that of Miss Bernice Whitmore, Whit-more, formerly of Xephi, Utah, and Captain L. C. Karrick of this city, which took . place last night at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. G. C. Whitmore, Whit-more, in Los Angeles. Only a few friends witnessed, the ceremony cere-mony and the wedding was characterized by simplicity. The young couple are expected ex-pected in Salt Lake tomorrow and probably prob-ably will make their home here. Captain Karrick, who is the son of Mrs. S. E. Karrick of this ci ty, arrived from France a lew days ago with the Ninety-first division, after being at the front for many months previous to the declaration of peace. He is pop'ular in Suit Lake- society. The bride also has many friends in this city. She la a sister of Mrs. Edith Sparks and Harvey Whitmore of Salt Lake and has frequently visited here. Marked success attended a May party given at the Hotel Utah last night hy tho Isabella club, assisted by tho Newman New-man club, for tho benefit of Our Lady I of Lourdes parish of tho Catholic church. Dancing was enjoyed In the ballroom of the hotel and card tables were placed on tho mezzanine floor. A light supper was served in t he bampjct room. A lavender and gold color scheme was I carried out in the table decorations. A large basket of lilacs was the centerpiece, center-piece, with a yellow maline bow on the handle. Crystal candlesticks held yellow tapers and were tied with yellow maline. A Mexican drawn work rover was over yellow satin. Lilacs were aiso used In the ballroom. Fortune-telling booths were a feature of tiie entertainment. Presiding over the booths where tho mysteries of the future were revealed were Mrs. 'George Shepard and Mrs. J. E. Dowd.
