Washington, Sept. 14 General Shatter Shat-ter has submitted to the war department depart-ment his report on the Santiago campaign, cam-paign, covering not only the battle of Santiago, but the en tire progress of the military invasion of Cuba, The general, accompanied by his aide, Captain Miley, visited the department and in person handed the report to Adujutant General Corbin. He also brought with, him two Cuban machetes, to be presented pre-sented to Mrs. Alger as momentoe.s of the campaign. The report is a voluminous document, with the supplements of the subordinate subordi-nate officers, and covers about 200 typewritten type-written pages. It repeats the story pretty well known, although there is much interest inter-est in the view which the commanding general takes of several features of the campaign. |
