Show Marriage of Fawn Schmutz And Evan S. Pickett Announced On August 8th Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schmutz are issuing announcements this week, telling of the marriage of their daughter, Fawn, to Lieut. Evan Spencer Pickett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis J. Pickett, which took place at noon on August 8th, at Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Schmutz accompanied their daughter to Oklahoma for the marriage, returning Sunday evening. eve-ning. President Leavitt is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Leavitt, formerly of Gunlock, and now of Salt Lake City, and the others in the party were Miss Mary Facer, Miss June Cragun and Lloyd Shumway, all Utahn's on missions in that area. The couple stood facing President Presi-dent Leavitt before the massive fireplace, Mr. and Mrs. Schmutz and the missionaries forming a semi-circle back of the bride and groom, during the reading of the ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, cere-mony, the bride's parents were hosts to the group at a charmingly-arranged wedding dinner at the Severs hotel, after which Mr. and Mrs. Schmutz accompanied the bride and groom to the depot, where they took the train for Baltimore, Md., where Lieut. Pickett Pick-ett will attend the school of chemical chem-ical warfare for the ensuing month, before returning to Camp j Crowder, near Muskogee, where he will be stationed as a military instructor for an extended period. Since the officers training in chemical engineering at Baltimore did not open until August 17th, the couple honeymooned through New England during the week preceding Lieutenant Pickett's furlough. fur-lough. Mr. and Mrs. Schmutz returned home Sunday evening, having stopped over in Wichita, Kansas to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Job, a sister and brother-in-law. |
