Show Miss Ramona Cannon, Don Carlos Schmutz To Be Married At Temple Saturday Invitations are out announcing the approaching marriage of Miss Ramona Ra-mona Cannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cannon and Don Carlos Schmutz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schmutz, which will take place in the St. George Temple at noon Saturday, August 2, with Pres. Harold S. Snow performing per-forming the ceremony. The wedding reception to be given by the bride's parents will take place in the St. George L.D.S. institute building at 8 p. m., Saturday. Sat-urday. Several events have complimented complimen-ted Miss Cannon during the past week. Mrs. Ann R. Price in behalf be-half of the Business and Professional Profes-sional Women of St. George was hostess at an elaborate breakfast and personal shower at her home last Sunday morning. Plates were set for 14, including the bride-elect, bride-elect, Mrs. E. J. Simmons, Fawn Schmutz, Margaret Jones, Mrs. George Jay, Roma Snow, Virginia McArthur, Mary Lou Wells, Alice Thompson, Doris Atkin, Vivian Rencher, Bernice Miles and Mrs. Von B. Cottam, and the hostess.- On Sunday evening Miss Cannon entertained her many relatives and friends at a trousseau tea at the home of her parents. For the occasion she wore a formal of sheer white organza with a corsage of gardenias. Miss Virginia McArthur received guests at the door; Miss Doris Atkin of Cedar City, registered the guests; Mrs. George Jay, sister of the bride and Miss Margaret Jones of Cedar City were pourers; Miss Alice Thompson had charge of the music; Mrs. E. J. Simmons, Miss Roma Snow and Miss Fawn Schmutz assisted in serving; serv-ing; Miss Mildred Bentley assisted as-sisted Miss Cannon in displaying her gifts. Miss Atkin, Miss Bentley, Bent-ley, Miss Snow and Mrs. Cottam wore formals of blue taffeta. Miss Jones, Miss Schmutz, Miss Thompson, Thomp-son, and Miss McArthur were gowned in white formals; Mrs. E. J. Simmons wore old rose taffeta taf-feta and Mrs. George Jay, wore periwinkle taffeta. Their corsages were all of gardenias and pink rosebuds. Included in the trousseau were several heirlooms in handiwork, elaborately hand-pieced quilts and attracting much attention the bride-elect's hobby table carrying a vast assortment of salt and pepper shakers. On Monday evening Miss Cannon Can-non was honored with a bath room shower by her intimate girl friends at the home of Miss Virginia Vir-ginia McArthur. Table games furnished the entertainment. And on Wednesday morning she was breakfast guest at the home of Miss Mona Woodbury, with other business associates. |
