Show 1 Funeral Services Held At Rockville Fcr Oliver Demill ROCKVILLE, U t a h Funeral services were held here for Oliver Demill who died July 25. He was one of the pioneers of this valley, coming from Manti when a boy with his parents, Oliver Demill and Emily Beal Demill. Bp. Waldon Ballard conducted the services. A chorus of mixed voices rendered the song, "Oh I What Songs of the Heart". Invocation In-vocation was by Marvin Terry. A string trio, by Newell Demill, Lester Adams and Emerald Jennings Jen-nings played "O' My Father". The speakers were John R. Crawford, Alvin Allred, Boyd Dennett, Mrs. Alice Russell, Ezra Stevens, of Mt. Carmel; Pres. Claude Hirschi and Bp. Waldon Ballard. A duet by Mrs. Waldon Ballard and Mrs. Alvin Allred "When They're gone We Won't forget them", was rendered. ren-dered. Also a male quartette from Springdale, Whitford Larkin and Karl and Kendall Gifford sang "Lead Me Gently Home, Father". Benediction was by James N. Stanworth of Hurricane. All of his children were here with a host of relatives and friends in attendance. Surviving him are Oliver, of Hurricane; Alma, Irad, Hyrum, Perry, Artemus and Alvin, all of Rockville. His wife, Harriet Beal Demill died August 27, 1910. He had 34 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. |
