Show SUDDEN DEATH strikes mm Former Teacher of Littlefield School Died Friday While on Way to Hospital. Mrs. Mildred Richards Mc-Knight, Mc-Knight, 2 6, wife of Preston Me-Knight Me-Knight of Littlefield, Arizona, died suddenly Friday evening, probably while en route from that place to the Washington County hospital, of uremic convulsions. con-vulsions. She had been ill only a few hours when she passed into unconsciousness and never recovered. As soon as it was discovered by her family that her condition was serious, she was placed in a car and rushed to St. Gearge. but was dead when she was placed on the operating table here. The time of her death is not known as relatives said they believed she was living when they left home. Mrs. McKnight was born January Jan-uary 7, 1905 at Holbrook, Arizona, Ari-zona, a daughter of James W. and Mary Westover Richards. She received her early education educa-tion there, and attended college col-lege at Tempe where she received re-ceived a teacher's degree. She taught one year at Joseph City, her home, and then came to Littlefield in the fall of 192S. On January 4, 1929 she was married in St. George to Preston Pres-ton McKnight. and continued teaching at Littlefield until the end of the school term in 1931. At that time she and her husband hus-band moved to Carp, and were making a home there. Surviving are her husband, parents, five brothers and five sisters. Funeral services wore hold Sunday at Littlefield under the direction of Bishop Harold Re-'ber. Re-'ber. The Mesquite ward choir furnished the music. Speakers were Joseph Frehner and Wm. TO. Abbott, prayers were offered by Franklin Leavitt and Bishop Howard Pulsipher. Thirty-nine cars followed the remains to the Beaver Dam cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Lewis Pulsipher. |
