Show FUNERAL FOR NAOMI SCHMUTZ Funeral services for Miss Naomi Schmutz, the 13-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Schmutz who died on the 17th inst., were held in the Stake Tabernacle last Thursday at 5 p. m., conducted by Bishop Frank G. Miles. The speakers were Elders Geo. E. Miles, Geo. W. Worthen and Bishop Miles. Musical numbers were furnished by a quartet consisting of Fred A. Reber, Job Hall, Mrs. Gordon Mathis and Mrs. Lorenzo Bringhurst; solos by Misses Mona Wpodbury and Ruth Winsor. Prayers were by Brig-ham Brig-ham Jarvis and John H. Cottam. The grave was dedicated by Pres. Walter Cannon. "The pure in heart shall see God," quoted Elder Geo. Miles. He continued: continu-ed: It is a splendid thought that when we lay our loved ones away in their purity, as this dear young sister sis-ter has been laid, death loses its sting. There is sorrow for those whose lives have been misspent, but for those called home in their youth and purity there is not the same sorrow. sor-row. We return home when the call comes; it is the eternal law of progress. pro-gress. Klder Geo. Worthen: I have been a witness to this dear young sister's sweetness and patience during her long illness. It has been decreed by God that all mankind should taste death. When our spirits left the other world we had progressed as far as we could; we came here in order to Progress further. In the day of judgment judg-ment we shall be rewarded for all our eood deeds. Bishop Miles: This dear young sister sis-ter has been very cheerful and patient for one of her age. Her parents have dne all that lay in their power, yet I believe they realized that it was God's and felt to say "His will be done." Desired to thank all who had so I kindly helped them in their hour of trial. |
