Show OBITUARY Henry Frehner was born at St. Gallen, Switzerland; Sept. 14, 1S57, a son of Jacob and Anna E. Frehner. I At the age of 12 he heard the gospel as was taught by the missionaries sent by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Two years later he was baptized. So implicit was his faith in the new adopted religion that he left his home, parents, brothers broth-ers and sisters and came to Utah. The conditions under which he came required the test of faith. A strange-land,- strange people, strange language lang-uage and only in his early years. Of course the work here was that of a pioneer and readily he adjusted himself to the task. He hauled thousands of feet of lumber for the temple at St. George. He went to Littlefield, Arizona, in 1S79, working against odds to make a home. May 2S, 1884, he married Henrietta Reber and of this union nine children were born five of whom preceded their father in death. He conquered the elements with which he fought; he made lasting friends of those who came his way. When on the evening of July 2 6, 1925, he closed his career unexpectedly, unexpect-edly, he left a loving wife, an honorable honor-able family and a host of relatives and friends, each of whom had been made better by his having lived. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Joseph and Alfred, and two daughters, Lilian and Erma. |
