railway in relation to a rebate of on the freight of the fire engine the rebate was considered sufficient cent and the matter was referred to the committee on fire department with authority to act from the members f the volunteer fire department requesting that john A brown be appointed chief of the de petition was granted and john A brown appointed chief of the fire department the matter of filling the other appointive poin tive office of the department was referred to the committee on fire depart ment or E 0 henrichsen chairman of the committie commit tse on public grounds and city
