Show pioneers are honored at centennial guests of honor at the utah cen tennial celebration last week were the pioneers among these were three tooele thoele county residents mrs annie H green mrs hilda enck erick son and mrs elizabeth davis on july 24 the pioneers were honored at a special luncheon at the hotel utah at 12 30 p m the special speakers were governor herbert B maw and president dav id 0 me mc kay the luncheon was under the direction of the central camp of daughters of utah pio immediately following the luncheon the pioneers boarded a bus and were taken to the state cap tol to witness the unveiling of a plaque in commemoration of all the living pioneers these n ce old people were div en special seats at the parade the seats were placed in front of the lion house and the pioneers enjoy ed the parade from their seats of honor mrs hilda erickson returned thrilled and happy from her trip to nauvoo although the route they followed is greatly changed and built up she recognized many of the places from her first trip those plains when they were a barren wasteland |
