Show Merchants Welcome First Baby The Times -Independent annual New Year's first baby contest will get underway a midnight, Dec. 31, 1973, with the lucky new lad or lass and parents to receive a pile of gifts from Moab merchants. In order to be eligible, contest entrants must be born within Grand County limits. Parents should mail or bring in a statement state-ment from the delivering deliver-ing physician to the Times, including exact lime, day and place of the baby's birth, plus sex, weight and name of the Child. Parents must also include their names and address. In past years, Grand County has often wailed several weeks for a winner. win-ner. Officials at Allen Memorial Hospital report re-port this year, however, there should be several babies in the running, and hopefully the parents of all will either have the bonus of a 1973 tax deduction, or the host of prizes.
