Show Literary Club Holds Birthday Celebration Members of the Women's Literary Club and their guesls met Saturday afternoon at the Greenwdl Restaurant Restaur-ant to celebrate the Club's 72nd birthday. Luncheon was served at 1 p.m. after which an enjoyable program was given by sbudcirs of Grand County High School. Clever readings were given by Sam Scharf, Mss Charlotte Tooth-man, Tooth-man, and Miss Becky Blank-enagle Blank-enagle Miss Sally Stocks sang a number of Irish song; accompanied by her guitar. A beaui if ul bir'.hday cake in the club colors, green and gold, was served by past pre-S.dents pre-S.dents df the club; Mrs. Mars Pope, Chairman, Mrs. J.W. Car-bin, Mrs. Harold Jacobs, Mrs Ann Pool, Mrs. N.S Cbristensen, Mrs. Joe Warde, Mrs. Carol H.nes. and Mrs Pearl Taylor. The tables were beautifully decorated in yellow yel-low spring flowers and f;w-sythia f;w-sythia to carry -out the club J colors. Mrs. J.W. Corbir. gave a summary of (the club's history his-tory since iet wais organized ;in 1893 by the 15 original members, jit was fjirst called the Busy Women's Club anri Sits journals and scrap books show 'that for 72 years the melmbers of Moato's oldest club have been dedicated to the improvement of the com' munity. |
