This matter should be broug.u up later the week. Both Sen. Bunnell and Rep. Silliman rep:ted that the issue of the '.'.qua! Rights Amendment is causing the most controversy. con-troversy. The House Joint Resolution concerning con-cerning the amendment is set for a hearing Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Jan. 24. at 2 p.m. It was reported out of committee on Tuesday Tues-day without a recommendation recom-mendation either for or against the measure. The vote is expected to be very close. Passed in the House on Tuesday by unanimous vote was a measure which would require licensing lic-ensing of all marriage 'ounselors. An examination exam-ination committee will be set up to issue the 'icensos. Tht Senate Tuesday p;.ssed a bill which would move the Utah Geological and Mineralogical Survey Sur-vey from the University of Utah to the Department Depart-ment of Natural Resources. Re-sources. This measure now goes before the House for action. The appropriations sub-committee on Education Edu-cation has just started study of SB 72 which will change the financing of public schools. If thebill in final form follows all the recommendations set forth thus far, it could mean and additional S160.000 for Grand County. The new program pro-gram would be based on the weighted pupil concept, con-cept, which places a certain cer-tain value on educational programs set forth in the schools, with vocational voca-tional education and special spe-cial education students weighing more heavily than conventional teaching teach-ing methods.
