To the Memorial Committee, of ' Springville, Utah. Hlln M. Groesbeck, secretary. The beautiful signet ring which you in your goodness sent me came today and I cannot tell you how touched nnd delighted I wns to received re-ceived this token of friendship nnd love from the dear people of Springville. Spring-ville. I slipped it on my finger ns a "sign of friendship," and as I once heard an old Indian say "the finger shall leave the hand before the ring does." To be known as a loyal son of Springville does my heart good and I think I can truthfully say, there Is no spot in thc whole world (excepting (ex-cepting of course my home) so dear and so enshrined in sacred memories ns my little mountain home town. To you my old comrades, schoolmates, school-mates, neighbors and friends I send my greeting of love and affection and whenever I gaze upon this ring (which is now a symbol binding bind-ing me more closely than ever to Springville, I shall feel that I am Inded a loyal son. Mrs. Dallin joins me in appreciation apprecia-tion and many thanks to each and all for this most beautiful gift. Alwuys affectionately yours, CYRUS E. DALLIN. .Sometimes known as "Birdy." |
